Last Wednesday, August 18, 2010, Hubby and I went to the Laboratory to have my glucose test done. The procedure was to drink a very sweet juice drink (240ml) and then after an hour the medical technician will sample blood from you. I am afraid of blood so imagine my pale lips and shaking hands while he was performing the blood test. And then after a while the med tech gave me the result and I forwarded it to my OB for her to read the result. The normal glucose count is around 7.7 but I got 8.1. I am possible for Gestational Diabetes said by my OB. She told me to cut down on my sweets and rice. And she ordered another test to be performed that week.
My husband was busy the following days so we went back to the lab yesterday, Saturday, August 21, 2010. Before that I never ate sweets even if I am used to eating them after every meal. I also opted for a no sugar milk during breakfast. And really watched my diet. The test is accompanied by fasting so my last meal was Friday, 12 midnight. After waking up I never went to the kitchen to eat breakfast. I prepared myself and went directly to the laboratory at 7:30am to perform my second glucose test. I am sooooo hungry already at that time but I sacrificed. The med tech got some blood sample from me and asked me to drink 2 bottles of the juice drink (240ml) after that. I waited for an hour for him to get another sample of blood from me. And then performed another blood test after an hour again. I got to eat my breakfast at 10:30am. Sigh! I was so drained already! Thank God I didn’t collapsed there!
The test was done and I am so relieved! He handed me the result and I again forwarded the paper to my OB. The reading was NEGATIVE. Yay!!!! I am not diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes! Weeeee!!! That felt sooooo good! And all the sacrifices I made paid off! Thank you Lord!
Now I continue my diet as my OB said that even if I am not positive for Gestational Diabetes that doesn’t mean I can eat sweets all I want. It is good for me and the baby to still watch my diet.

It has been a very hard life for us not owning a car. My husband only has a motorcycle and we use that as a form of transportation. But you all know that you can’t use a motorcycle when it is raining. So we are forced to take the jeepney in going to our destinations. It is so hard to commute everyday. Thank God I am smelling new car parked in our garage soon. Complete with the car insurance and the best thing of it all is that my in laws are paying for it! This is a really nice gift from them. Our family will be forever grateful for them.

I was talking to my husband the other day about what I want for my birthday on the 31st. I told him I want a new router. Yes that simple. I want to use my iphone here in our house and use the laptop minus the wires. It will be easier for preggy me to move around as well. I can even use my laptop in bed. That will feel heaven to me. I also got a laptop table today. i hope the store can ship it to me tomorrow.
But maybe spending at those beautiful Branson Missouri hotels with just me and my husband will be the best birthday gift for me ever! hahhahaha! I wish!

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn’t much more than an average rutabaga, but she’s beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she’ll start to look more and more like a newborn. She’s also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you’d now be able to discern its color and texture.

Reckless driving is always the main cause of driving accidents. It has been a pain when you are involved in a legal situation and I thank God that there’s denver accident lawyer who can help.

That is a very nice and not ordinary changing table! I like it! I wish i can find something like that here in our place. Or maybe I can have our carpenter make one just like this? Hmmm… nice idea!
Well, as of now we will be having the nursery in our bedroom. We don’t have a nursery room right now in this little house of ours. Maybe in the future when the second floor is done then we can have a nursery room for our future kids. But right now we will just place the crib and the changing table in out room. That way we can monitor the baby well.

What????
A month after and I am 5 kilos heavier???
OMG!!!
I better watch my eating habit now. I don’t want to suffer a lot when I give birth. And I don’t want a big baby as it will be hard to push him/her. So from now on I will lessen my rice intake and less sweets for me too!
On Wednesday I am going on a laboratory test again. And this time it will be for my blood sugar. I just hope it will be a negative result. I don’t want to have any complications now that I am pregnant. Please God let it be normal when the test is done.
Wish me luck OK?
Thanks!

With this baby inside me kicking for almost every hour I am deeply thinking about his/her future. Will she have everything she wishes for? Or will she just be a good boy/girl and just be satisfied of what he/she has? Maybe a gold coin will help me assure that the future of our family will be fine. So I need to make a decision if I will push through with my plan of buying a gold coin and store it in a safe depository just like what the United States Gold Bureau offers on their site. I hope it is not yet too late for this plan of mine.

Your baby’s growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he’s almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he’ll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
